God of War foi o vencedor do principal prêmio da noite, o de Jogo do Ano, na cerimônia The Game Awards realizada na madrugada desta sexta-feira nos Estados Unidos. O exclusivo para PlayStation 4 bateu o outro favorito do ano, Red Dead Redemption 2, que conquistou a maioria dos prêmios no evento.
Além do troféu de Jogo do Ano, God of War ganhou nas categorias Melhor Direção e Melhor jogo de Ação e Aventura. Já Red Dead Redemption se destacou no The Game Awards levando o prêmio nas categorias Narrativa, Atuação, Trilha Sonora e Design de Áudio.
